RHB was established in Singapore in 1961 as UMBC Bank, prior to the country’s
independence in 1965. After a series of expansions and strategic mergers, we are
now RHB Singapore. As a financial institution has been here since the beginning,
we have garnered invaluable experiences and insights which we turn into

The early years
Our roots stretch as far back as 1913 in Malaysia, when RHB Bank (then known as Kwong Yik Bank Berhad) was established at the financial centre of Kuala Lumpur. We are now the fourth largest, fully-integrated financial services group in Malaysia.
